Michael D'Amour Michael D’Amour
CEO and President

A seasoned technology CEO with over 20 years of experience in the security, semiconductor and Electronic Design Automation (EDA) industry, Mr. D’Amour was most recently Chief Operating Officer at DRC Computers, a leader in reconfigurable coprocessor solutions, where he oversaw product development and manufacturing operations. Earlier, he was CEO and president of Veridicom, a leader in the biometrics and network security software industry.

Mr. D’Amour began his executive career in the EDA industry, first as a founding team member at Daisy Systems Corporation where he served as vice president of R&D and subsequently at Quickturn Design Systems, a company he co-founded, which became the industry’s largest and most successful reconfigurable emulation EDA company. Mike was co-founder, co-patentor and executive vice president of R&D and international operations at Quickturn, where he delivered over $500M in reconfigurable systems to the marketplace.

 

Steve Stevens C. R. (Steve) Stevens
Founder, CTO and Chairman of the Board

Mr. Stevens brings to Lumenergi over 50 years of technology innovation and deep experience in the lighting industry. Mr. Stevens founded Luminoptics (the precursor to Lumenergi) with Mr. Alling in the 1970s to commercially develop and market dimming fluorescent ballasts and control systems, enabling higher energy efficiency and significant cost-savings. Mr. Stevens is a prolific inventor with 42 patents issued across a wide variety of technology areas, ranging from lighting and lighting controls, communications and power systems, to aviation and traffic management systems. Other products invented by Mr. Stevens have seen significant commercial success and have been or are being sold by 3M, Motorola, Gulf & Western, Joseph Enterprises (“The Smart Clapper”), Bright Image Corporation (Touch Lamps), and Multisonics (Vehicular Traffic Controllers and Computers).

Mr. Stevens was part of the founding team of Motorola Lighting and served as the division’s Chief Scientist until its subsequent sale to Osram/Sylvania. He is well-known and respected in the lighting industry, where he has served as an expert witness in litigation for Osram/Sylvania, Motorola, MagneTek, Juno Lighting and Pacific Scientific.

Mr. Stevens holds a degree in Physics from Stanford University and has attended the Officers Training Course of the U.S. Army.

Albert Lam Albert Lam
Senior VP Engineering and Production

Mr. Lam has more than 20 years of high-tech startup, product and business development, engineering management, and electronic products manufacturing experience in the areas of professional HDTV/SDTV transceivers, video recording and conferencing systems, internet appliances and embedded software/hardware applications.

Prior to joining Lumenergi, he was the CTO of Amarium Corporation, a private-equity funded company focusing on mergers and acquisitions of high-tech companies in fields of Unified Threat Management (UTM) products and network security. Before Amarium, Mr. Lam founded and served as General Manager of XVD Corporation, a high-tech startup developing professional HD/SD satellite transmission products, IP-based security monitoring, and video conferencing products. From 1999-2001, he was the Executive VP of Engineering at Ravisent Technologies, Inc. producing internet appliance products and networked DVD players for consumers. Previously, Mr. Lam was VP Engineering at two startups (Optivision and Futuretel) producing coding, transmission and storage for the TV Broadcast industry. Mr. Lam started his career in the CAD and semiconductor space as engineering director and design engineer at Aptix Corporation and Cadence Design Systems.

Mr. Lam was in the Computer Science Ph.D. program at UCLA and has an MSEE degree from USC, a BSEE degree from Caltech and a Bachelors degree in Physics from Occidental College.

Jeff MurphyJeff Murphy
VP Sales

Mr. Murphy joins Lumenergi with an exceptional track record with lighting industry majors. He most recently served as vice president of sales for Nexxus Lighting, where he increased LED product revenues by 400%. Prior to that, Mr. Murphy was vice president of sales at Acuity Brands Lighting, where he selected strategic markets, developed new sales models and restructured and aligned national accounts, growing sales organization to $270 million in revenue in the Holophane Lighting Division. At Cooper Lighting, he managed $100 million operation as national sales manager, growing sales by over 30 percent annually.

During his career, Mr. Murphy successfully built strategic programs and relationship with nationwide commercial and industrial lighting channels. He launched new product lines, , and developed new product and pricing strategies to maximize profits. He holds a master of business administration from Stetson School of Business and Economics, and a bachelor of arts in education from Muskingum College.

Peter M. Schwartz Peter M. Schwartz
VP Business Development

Mr. Schwartz spent the prior 12 years as president of an energy-consulting firm, Peter Schwartz & Associates, LLC, which specialized in large energy infrastructure projects, strategic energy planning, and sustainable project development. He is the former Founding Board President of the New Buildings Institute (NBI), where he focused on promoting advanced building energy technologies. At LAS & Associates, Inc., he managed demand-side and supply-side energy projects with over $500 million in total value. He was Director of Business Energy Management with Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s (PG&E) $76 million Commercial Energy Efficiency Programs.

Over the past three decades, Mr. Schwartz has been involved in promoting numerous new efficient lighting technologies, and has worked closely with leading organizations such as the Department of Energy, California Lighting Technology Center, California Energy Commission and the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance. During this time, he also played an important part in advancing energy codes and standards, such as Title 24, ASHRAE 90.1 and the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC).

Mr. Schwartz received his bachelor’s degree in environmental physics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, specializing in technology assessment, energy policy and environmental politics. He also has a master’s degree in environmental planning from Arizona State University, specializing in building energy technology and analysis.

He is a member of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), the Association of Energy Services Professionals (AESP), American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), and the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA).

Dan M. Weed Dan Weed
VP Customer Operations

Mr. Weed has more than 20 years of high-tech experience ranging from semiconductor design and verification, to system software and embedded microprocessor expertise. Early in his career Mr. Weed helped to usher in Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) design, manufacturing and first time right methodologies leading to an explosion of many fab-less semiconductor companies. Later in his career Mr. Weed focused on scaleable systems for the data storage industry helping to bring to market early networked attached storage (NAS) solutions. Recognizing the need to tightly couple software with hardware to meet customer expectation and market demands, he’s taken products from development to high volume production, routinely and profitably.

Mr. Weed brings years of operational experience serving in marketing, sales and engineering capacities both domestic and international. Prior to joining Lumenergi, he was Sr. VP of Applications Engineering at Tensilica, Inc. a privately held embedded microprocessor IP company. Previously, he held positions at Cadence Design Systems in corporate marketing and from 1991 to 2003 held various senior management positions at LSI Logic. Applying these skills will assure that Lumenergi’s system level implementations continue to thrill and delight customers, world wide.

Mr. Weed has a BS with emphasis in Computer Engineering from the University of Houston and attended the JAMIS Institute. He has one patent in the field of Integrated Circuit implementation automation.
