Lumenergi Continues Expansion with New VP of SalesLighting industry expert Peter Weller joins team as demand growsNewark, CA., March 1, 2010 —Lumenergi, a leading provider of energy-saving, networked lighting solutions, today proudly welcomed Peter Weller as Vice President of Sales. At a time when the market for energy-efficient lighting solutions is experiencing dramatic growth, Mr. Weller’s twenty-five years experience in the lighting industry will strengthen the company’s sales operations and accelerate revenue growth. “The market potential for energy-efficient, smart solutions in commercial buildings is huge and largely untapped. There are 70 billion square feet of office space in the U.S., and currently only one billion have undergone retrofits. Lumenergi’s advanced lighting solutions are poised for widespread adoption, as lighting is currently the largest uncontrolled energy end use in a building,” said Michael D’Amour, Lumenergi CEO. “Peter’s expertise, experience and strategic thinking will propel the lighting market’s conversion to intelligent control and smooth dimming, helping us take a larger share of the commercial intelligent lighting market, which is expected to reach $2.15 Billion by 2013.” Lumenergi’s smart grid ready systems are affordable, efficient, easy-to-use, and deliver a quick return on investment—averaging between one and three years. The system enables building managers and occupants to have greater lighting system control and functionality by providing real-time monitoring, dynamic light level response and optimized system operation. This integrated system functionality enables automated commissioning and demand response, and optimizes building performance for smart grid connectivity and climate-friendly operation. Lumenergi’s smooth dimming ballasts operate in both DALI (digital addressable lighting interface) and 0-10V control modes, protecting building managers from technology obsolescence in the future.“ We are experiencing rapid changes in the lighting space, with a rising number of commercial buildings undergoing energy-efficient retrofits. I chose to join Lumenergi because I am confident that our integrated lighting management technology is the market leader, because it maximizes energy efficiency, increases energy savings, and improves occupant comfort and building owners’ profitability. We are well on our way to being one of the foremost industry suppliers and I am excited to help drive this growth,” said Peter Weller, Vice President of Sales at Lumenergi. Mr. Weller comes to Lumenergi with extensive lighting industry experience in sales, marketing, business development and engineering, starting in 1984 as an engineer at GTE Sylvania. Prior to joining Lumenergi, Mr. Weller was General Manager at Luminus Devices, an LED company. Throughout his successful career, he has consistently delivered increased growth and revenue, demonstrating strategic prowess and exceptional insight into the lighting space. Mr. Weller received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire and later attended the MBA program at New Hampshire College. He also participated in the Consortium for Executive Development at Babson College’s School of Executive Education in 1996. Mr. Weller’s appointment is the latest in a string of high profile executive announcements made as Lumenergi positions itself as a leading lighting market solutions provider. Recently, Lumenergi announced the addition of Dan Weed as the new Vice President of Customer Operations and Peter M. Schwartz as Vice President of Business Development. About Lumenergi Lumenergi designs and manufactures the industry’s most cost-effective and advanced dimming electronic ballasts and intelligent, network-controlled lighting management systems. The company’s products help building owners significantly improve their bottom line with 50 to 70 percent energy savings. Lumenergi incorporates innovative lighting strategies including daylight harvesting, scheduling, task tuning, occupancy sensing, and the most comprehensive demand response and load shedding system available.
